The Continental Congress was unable to fix the economic crisis after the American Revolution in that it could not stop the states from printing money.

The Second Continental Congress started in 1775, after the beginning Revolutionary War of Independence. The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation as the first form of Constitution in the United States, giving to much power to the states. Thet remained sovereign and were the ones that could collect money through taxation. Under the Articles, the central government was weak.
