Hindus is the plural for a person that is a Hindu. Although the word was first used to describe an ethnic group in India, it is now more commonly identified with those who practise Hinduism.

Yes. A Hindu is a person who practices the religion Hinduism. This is sometimes confused with the language, Hindi.
