After centuries of international exchange between Japan and China, Japan pulled away from the relationship. What was the reasoning? The Tang Dynasty was drawing to a close, with Chinese people unsettled. China changed her policy toward Japan. Japan had learned all they wanted to learn from their neighbor. War broke out in China.
