    The Basel Convention is the treaty associated with upholding environmental justice by preventing the transport of hazardous wastes from developed countries to underdeveloped countries. The Convention was adopted on 22nd march 1989 and came into force on 5th may 1992. The Convention imposes certain obligations on member countries in order to ensure environmental justice to under developed and developing countries.
