d) During passive transport, osmosis allows salts to move from one side of the membrane to the other to equalize concentrations on both sides.

    D, A (possibly C)

    all of these are correct. Although C is stated somewhat strangely because it says water is pumped across a membrane, it would be better stated as particular ions are pumped across a membrane as this is more correct. I'm not even sure if it would be counted as correct to say water after all.

    For reasons of precautions, I would say D and A are correct.
