    Communism

    Explanation:

After World War II, two superpowers emerged victorious. The United States and the Soviet Union (USSR). Each superpower had different ideologies, the US was capitalist, and the Soviet Union was communist. They both occupied half of Berlin, the capital of Germany, which caused tension along the border forcing the USSR to build the Berlin Wall, which kept the Soviet Union's citizens from going to the United States's part of Berlin. The United States formed NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to try and keep the Soviet Union from taking over Europe, the Soviet Union responded by creating the Warsaw Pact. The Warsaw Pact included the Baltic states and other eastern European countries (including Hungary) and forced them to adopt communism.
