Florida's Department of Environmental Protection is responsible for maintain water and air quality in Florida.

Florida's Department of Environmental does this through permitting and by administering Federal programs under the Clean Water and the Clean Air Act. If Florida doesn't do a good job, the Federal Government is obliged to step in and maintain the water and air quality of Florida in Florida's stead.
