    Atlanta played a very crucial role in the 'Civil War' in 1864.

    Explanation:

    This 'civil war' is also known as Terminus before, Atlanta was a railway center for northwest Georgia founded in 1837. Because of its location, Atlanta was used as a prime area for every military operation and also acted as a supply route during the Civil war for the Confederate army. Due to the center of operation, it became one of the targets for the Union army. Therefore, in 1864, 'General William Tecumseh Sherman' of Union Army along with his troops captured and burned the Atlanta to the ground.
