Why were the Jim Crow laws important?

    Because they were the start of the civil rights movement. The Jim Crow Laws allowed segregation.

    They were important since it sparked the civil rights movement (Movement to stop slavery). Which indeed stopped slavery and ended segregation. (But in the world today some people are still races.)
