Before the Civil War, what were the two main issues the North and South came into conflict over?

    The one main conflict was about slavery being allowed in the U. S. The north wanted slavery while The South wanted peace and no slavery at all. This led to a divided nation. Here is the second conflict. States authority over federal authority. The boundary line that decided if a new state entering the union would be a northern free state or a southern slave state.
