The geographical terrain of Central Asia is different from the Atlantic which would be a source of evaporation and precipitation due to the prevailing winds of the monsoons. Although the Indian Ocean does not have a passageway for the monsoons since they are blocked by the Himalayas, it is because of this that warm and moist air drift over the central plains of North America. The temperatures are slightly more extreme in the east which diminishes rain-bearing winds.
