    The answer is B. Women were expected to keep quiet in public. During the 1800s women were not allowed to vote and did not earn the same wages as men. Women were not granted the right to vote until the early 1900s and during the 1800s most women had little choices for jobs. Many of the jobs for the women were also low paying.
