Who is the only elected official to serve in two branches of government and who is this person today?

    Richard Cheney serves in the Executive branch since he is second line to the presidency or as Vice-President in the United States and as President of the Senate in the Legislative branch but with no vote unless he is needed as a tie breaker. He is the only elected official to serve in two branches of government.
