In this sense, the Constitution is a living document. This is because the Constitution and its interpretation of what rights citizens have are constantly changing. For example, the freedom of speech used to apply to public speeches and newspaper. Now, courts are beginning to rule on how this protection applies to social media sites. This shows how the ideas of the US Constitution make it a living document, as it is able to keep up with changes in American society.
