    1. Note, the term compromise in politics refers to when both parties in a dispute make concessions. To promote compromise there is an equal voice in the Senate, but in the House of Representatives it is based on the size of each state's population, thus creating an opportunity for shared powers.

    2. A lack of agreement between the Republican-led House of Representatives and the Democratic-led Senate was because of the contents of the 2014 Continuing Appropriations Resolution bill that would in effect create a delay in funding for the 2013 Affordable Care Act (ACA).

    3. The US Government shutdown were as a result of:

    a. Refusal to pass the Affordable Care Act by the US Senate,

    b. There was no compromise bill by the end of September 30, 2013, which led to a government shutdown in early 2014.
