What did Alfred Dove borrow from European Modernists

Alfred Dove took from the European modernists his interest in abstraction and the creation of representations of things that could not be easily represented. Alfred Wilhelm was a German historian and journalist, he was a university professor, president of the Historical Commission of Baden and a member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences.
