1. Economic: Wealthy people wanted to invest their money into something, so colonizing was a perfect idea for them. Also with this, the English hoped to find gold when they went to America to get rich off of. America had also good raw materials for profit and building purposes.
2. Religious: If you did not agree with the religion in England you would be prosecuted with treason, so when more and more people branched out, they finally decided to find religious freedom.
3. Social/Political: The idea of raising sheep, which wool and meat was worth a lot back then, was a main idea for the British colonizers. Moving to America would bring a lot of new land. New experiences and the sense of adventure also aided in the want to go to America to colonize.
