Columbian Exchange or the great exchange has a significant impact on the lives of people living in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Columbian exchange started after the discovery of the new world (America). The exchange of goods like plants, animals, vegetables started between the new world (America) and the old world (Europe, Asia and Africa). For example, before 1000 AD potatoes were only grown in the south America, the other world was not known to potatoes. By the 1840s Ireland became so dependent on potatoes that it's one eighth population got killed in the potato famine. The transport of horses from Europe to America changed the lives of it's tribal areas.
