Do you live in an earthquake prone area of the country? You can identify potential dangers in your home by conducting an earthquake hazard hunt. As you go from room to room, check out your possessions and the organization of your home; imagine what would happen in an earthquake. All BUT ONE item is a potential hazard during an earthquake. A) Tall, heavy furniture that could topple over. B) Appliances that could move enough to rupture gas or electrical lines. C) A large supply of commercially bottled water as well as bleach for water purification. D) Flammable liquids, such as painting or cleaning products, that are safer stored in a garage or outside shed.
