S. also thought that the Soviet Union wanted to take over the world. Every dispute there was they saw it as a battle between right and wrong. 1

    Another cause of tension was the the Soviet Union wanted capitalism destroyed. This set off tension because this was the main economic system of the U. S. The Soviet Union accused the U. S. of influencing other nations and interfering with other nations. The United states and the Soviet union both thought that their political systems were superior and that the other countries political system was inferior. 1
