Why did the Japanese follow a policy of expansionism before World War II?

    The Japanese belived that they where superior to other coutries and/or peoples. The Japanese also needed more resources. Another reason is they wanted to kick all non-asians out of asia kind of like what Hitler thought of "non-aryans".
