Environmental protection, jobs for all workers, or protecting national industries may also be among a nation's economic goals.

Sometimes, economic goals conflict with one another. for example, providing a safety net for all citizens may slow economic growth. Protecting the environment may limit economic freedom of some business. All nations must arrange their economic goals in order of importance. No matter how a nation ranks its goals, each choice come with some kind of trade-off
