    Europe's main political during this time was the feudal system.

    The feudal system was a bit crooked, but it kept everyone alive as the main currency for the rich was land. Those who didn't own any were in the lower classes like such as peasants and serfs, who didn't have that much rights during the time. If you wish for a deeper explanation, let me know.
