    His name was Ferdinand Magellan and his crew contained people from many nationalities including Portuguese, France, England, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Greece. He was a Portuguese explorer born in 1480. He was killed in Philippines during the battle of Mactan in 1521. Magellan’s death was a tragic one and even his body could not be recovered to be brought back.
