What was the purpose of the US rationing items such as gasoline, food, nylon, and rubber during World War II

    Many stores and businesses were running out of their products and experienced shortages so they wanted a rationing system to limit the amount of their product each consumer can receive, that way they won’t run out of items, which they sold, as quickly as they would if they sold their products normally.
