NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Agreement. NAFTA was enacted to create open trade and encourage globalism. In reality, it made it cheaper to produce materials in labor markets with uncompetitive wages. As a result American corporations moved much of their manufacturing to other countries.
Explanation: NAFTA is currently viewed as a problematic trade agreement which disadvantaged American manufacturers and priviliged foreign competitors.
