The war was so important to the US because it presented an opportunity for the country to grant their own desire of expanding their global dominance, this war became notable because the United States succeeded in taking over another territory owned by another kingdom. Another notable thing about the war was that it made the world to see the United Sates has a powerful military strength. Through this war, the United States was able to change the balance of the world power.
