    The Pope's Rebellion happened in 1680 and it was an Indian uprising. This uprising was caused as a result of the Spanish Roman Catholic's main goal in New Mexico started to mistreat the locals by endeavoring to deny them of their religious traditions.

    It was an uprising of the greater part of the indigenous Pueblo individuals against the Spanish colonizers in the area of Santa Fe de Nuevo México, introduce day New Mexico. The Pueblo Revolt murdered 400 Spanish and drove the staying 2,000 pilgrims out of the area.
