    The answer would be B, it favored the republicans. This was caused by over conjecture in the West and cash inflation due to the inrush of Californian gold. The North was the strongest hit, while the South kept on thriving with its cotton. Northerners concocted the possibility of the administration giving 160-section of land plots of cultivating area to pioneers for nothing.
