The issue that was discussed at the constitutional convention of 1787 and is still a major concern in the U. S to this day is the balance of power between state and national governments. The reason why the balance of power between the state and national government is a problem is because the national government has the power to not allow states to do things if they say so. The national government, or federal government, controls the whole nation, meaning that they control every single state. State governments only have the power in their state, which doesn't give them any power to the nation. The federal government of the United States has so much power, that they have the control to decide what states do and don't do. This is a major concern because people believe that the state should have rights like the federal government, and not have to feel like the federal government has power over every government.
