The correct answer is Christopher Columbus. He wrote about it in his logs and the Spaniards took it back to Europe. The tobacco industry started growing in its primal form and the first famous piece of Virginia tobacco which is still famous and in use nowadays was brought to Europe by Sir Walter Raleigh
