During the Sexual Revolution people became more liberal in their views of sex. Greater access to sexual media, contraception, STI treatment, etc contributed to this change. People who grew up before the 1950s would have seen this new era as being over-sexualized compared to when they grew up. Alfred Kinsey's research was groundbreaking in how it described sexual behavior that had not been viewed or discussed in such a way previously. However, he was known to conduct a variety of questionable sexual experiments involving viewing others having sex, participating in sex himself, etc raising ethics concerns. Music from the 1950s would be very tame by today's standards, but back then the dancing and lyrics were viewed as wild and tumultuous. For example, Elvis Presley's dancing that people thought was too sexual compared to people twerking today.
