    The main cause of the post ww2 economic boom was decreased cost of energy. energy was important as it was needed to drive the economy. another cause was adhering to the Keynesian principles of economics.

    The effect was a period of economic prosperity in the western world driven by industries and the subsequent recessions in the 1970's as the oil and energy driven economies entered into recession.
