    One of the best examples could be the case of John Rockefeller and the Standard Oil Company. Rockefeller started to but other small companies until there were no other competitors in the industry. That is how he built his oil monopoly. Another example could be the case of Andrew Carnegie and his Steel company. Practically he did the same as Rockefeller.
