What were the early universities in antebellum texas?

    Antebellum Texas is the period of its early statehood which was between 1846-1861. It was the interlude between the Republic of Texas and the Civil War. The inhabitants cast their lot with the Old South which made the state to have an ineradicable Southern heritage.

    The Universities include: The University of San Augustine and Marshall University
