Why did Congress put in a gag rule in 1835 that ended discussion of slavery?

    Slavery ended with the ratification of the 13th amendment to the Constitution. the emancipation proclamation by Abraham lincoln which was adocument that abolished slavery. later MLK Jr. ended segergation.
