What ended the Cuban Missile Crisis? The Soviet Union and United States agreed that Cuba would be neutral in the Cold War The United States agreed to not invade Cuba, and the Soviets agreed to remove all missiles from Cuba. The United States agreed that Soviet missiles could stay in Cuba as long as they were not nuclear missiles. The American-backed Cuban exiles were defeated at the Bay of Pigs.
