23. Why was so many American upset and protested against the United States war with Mexico?

They believed that the United States had invaded Mexico without any rights to do so and that they were displaying imperialist policies, the same one that the United States were generally fighting. They believed that Mexico should remain where it was without a war and that the United States should not spread and acquire land through warfare with others.
