Triebe extended to kin-groups / ethnic groups. And in united states, it mostly refers to the native indians.

In united states, the term tribe is used to define social group that exist befor the establishment of the government.

In the past, the native indians and the government clashed in several conflicts to fight for lands and until now, the government still give various form of grants for the natives to subsidized the take land.
