Cult of domesticity is an opinion about the women in 1800s.

Explanation:

It was believed in 1800s that women should stay at home and look only after the house. They should not be allowed to work outside home. It was also believed that women should be more religious than men. They were symbols of purity and submissiveness. 'Cult of Domesticity' is also known as "cult of true womanhood".

American women were basically regulated by this social system and were supposed to be restricted only to home and family. They were in a different sphere than from men.
