The Shaker community is a group / sect of Christian faith that follows the concept or practice of celibacy and communal living, the confession of sins, equality of everyone and the peaceful co-existence of everyone.

This community followed the communal way of living, where everything is shared among the people and did not believe in the procreation. So they stay celibate but if the need to gain new members came, they would either adopt or recruit new believers, especially young people. And these new members were given the option of either staying in the community or leave after they turned the age of 21. They also believe in the equality of everyone irrespective of the gender or race. Thus, members of this community practice celibacy and owned everything in common.
