The Israelite s would have remained in captivity as slaves to the Egyptians for

    a longer time.

    Explanation:

The Israelite s came to Egypt during the time of Joseph (who was the 11th son of Jacob that was sold into slavery by his other brothers to Potiphar in Egypt) because of Famine that had ravaged their land and they needed somewhere to buy foods. but with Joseph as part of the ruling/governing council he asked them to stay back in Egypt.

Pharaoh of Egypt who saw as the Israelite s were growing in both numbers and strength felt uncomfortable with there presence and freedom decide to enslave them and used them to build "suppl cities" "pithom" and Ramses
