Which is the main way a representative democracy differs from a direct democracy

    A representivie democracy is the system used here in the United States. Citizens vote to elect officials who represent their best interest in government decisions. Ancient Athens used direct democracy. In a direct democracy citizens do not elect officials. But they have a direct say (vote) in government decisions.
