Yes and no.
Explanation:
The Sedition act would not be very accepted in today's society because it permitting the deportation, fine, or imprisonment of anyone deemed a threat or publishing "false, scandalous, or malicious writing" against the government of the United States. While the Sedition act may not have been very moral or appropriate, one could nevertheless argue it's necessity.
