    An eclipse is basically a shadow falling onto a celestial body. There are two types of eclipses, a lunar eclipse, and a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse is when the moon makes a shadow on Earth. A lunar eclipse happens when Earth's shadow falls on the moon.
