What happened to Emmett till

Emmett Till was taken from his relative's home, as he was visiting from Chicago, brutally beaten and tortured several ways until he died. All of this was done after he was accused of either whistling or saying "Hey Baby" to a white woman in 1955. He is often referred to a martyr and believed to be the true catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement.

14 year old Emmett Till was visiting relatives in Mississippi on August 24, 1955, when he reported flirting with a white cashier at the grocery store. Four days later two white men kidnapped Till, beat him up and shot him in the head. The two men tried for murder, but all white men acquitted them.
