The Munich Conference resulted in Nazi Germany gaining parts of the country of Czechoslovakia. This agreement made at Munich between Germany and other European nations (like Great Britain) represented the policy of appeasement. Appeasement refers to the fact that none of the European nations stood up to the Germans. Rather, they let them add parts of Czechoslovakia to their empire.

This became symbolic of Hitler's reign, as he continued to take over more countries and territories in Europe. This was due to the fact that nations refused to go to war with Germany. That is until 1939, when World War II officially begins.
