    Although the conflict was indecisive, it boosted American nationalism because the American army and navy proved they could stand up to the most powerful country in Europe.

    It can't be called a decisive victory or a defeat for anyone since the war ended in a stalemate and nothing got resolved. The situation returned to how it was before the war politically, except they didn't want to go to war anymore. This meant that no boundary changes occurred.
