Why have most Indians settled in the coastal regions and the Indo-Gangetic Plain?

    A) Much of the rest of India is not well suited for human habitation.

    India has three geographic regions: The Indo-Gangetic Plain, the Deccan Plateau and the Himalayas. The coastal regions can be considered a fourth region. The Himalaya region is not well suited for human habitation.
