Gilded age is an age of prompt commercial prosperity which is a positive sign for a nation but with it came many negative aspects such as Corruption and oppression of poor by the rich.

Sherman's antitrust law which prohibited the restriction of free trade was passed. It paved way for no trade to become a monopoly and it restored fair competition between businesses

Interstate commerce commission act aimed at establishing Union regulation of the railroads industry. This also aimed at prohibiting the transport department to follow monopolistic practices.
